Privacy policy
Effective September 11, 2026 · Moku is made by 2618991 Ontario Inc. (DadBuilt), Ontario, Canada.
The short version: Moku shows no ads in the app, does not track anyone across apps or websites, and has no accounts. We never collect your child's name, photos, voice, location, or contacts — the app has no way to ask for them. Your child's world is stored on your device. Moku sends limited anonymous usage, diagnostic, purchase, and Apple Ads attribution information so we can operate the app and understand whether our own ads lead to subscriptions.
What stays on your device
Everything your child makes and finds — the garden, the treasures on the shelf, the state of the whole world — is saved locally on your iPad. It is not uploaded, synced, or shared. Deleting the app deletes the world.
Answers selected during setup stay on your device. Moku does not send those answers with usage events.
What Moku collects
Moku processes a small amount of information:
- Usage events — app launches, setup screens viewed or completed, parent checks, subscription access checks, purchase and restore results, and entry into play. We record requests to open a subscription screen separately from evidence that the screen was shown. Existing events also show which parts of the world were visited and how long a session lasted. Setup events include the event and screen names, time and order, app build, measurement version, and setup state or test context. They can also include how a setup screen was reached, where a restore was started, and the type of evidence for a subscription screen being shown. Failures use fixed outcome labels, not raw error messages. These events go to a service we operate on Cloudflare. Each app launch uses a new random session identifier. We do not reuse it across launches or connect it to a person, device, advertising record, or RevenueCat customer record. We do not send setup answers, child ages or interests, payment details, or account and device identifiers with these events.
- Diagnostics — if the app crashes or performs poorly, we receive aggregate diagnostic reports through Apple's MetricKit system.
- Purchases — Apple processes purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat helps Moku check subscription status and receives limited purchase information from Apple. Moku does not receive payment-card or bank information.
- Apple Ads attribution — if a parent installs Moku after seeing one of our Apple Ads, Apple's AdServices system can provide a time-limited attribution token. RevenueCat uses it to request Apple's standard attribution record. That record can contain the attribution result and campaign, ad group, keyword, ad, placement, region, organization, and conversion identifiers. Apple states that this standard record does not identify a user or device. RevenueCat connects it only to an anonymous Moku customer record so we can measure whether our own Apple Ads lead to subscriptions.
We use this information to operate Moku, support purchases, improve the app, and measure our own Apple Ads. We do not sell it, use it for third-party advertising, or use it to track anyone across other companies' apps or websites.
Anonymous usage and diagnostic events are deleted from our live service after 90 days. RevenueCat keeps the anonymous purchase and attribution record while it is needed for subscription support, advertising measurement, and legal recordkeeping. We delete the RevenueCat customer record after a verified deletion request when the record can be located, except for information that we must keep by law.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts our usage-event service and database. Apple processes App Store purchases and provides its privacy-preserving AdServices attribution record. RevenueCat processes anonymous subscription and Apple Ads attribution information for us. We require service providers to protect this information and use it only to provide their services to Moku.
What Moku never collects
- No names, emails, or accounts — there is nothing to sign up for
- No photos, microphone, camera, or location access
- No contacts, no messages, no social features
- No IDFA, no App Tracking Transparency request, and no cross-app advertising profile
- No Singular SDK or other mobile measurement SDK
Children's privacy
Moku is designed for children ages 3–6, and we built it to collect no personal information from anyone — children included. There is no chat, no free-text input, no way to share content out of the app, and no external links inside the child's world. Apple Ads attribution does not use IDFA and Apple's standard record does not identify a child, parent, or device.
Purchases
If a purchase or subscription is offered, it is presented to a parent and processed by Apple. RevenueCat helps Moku check the subscription status. We never see or store payment details.
Deleting data
World data lives on your device: delete the app to delete it. To ask us to delete a RevenueCat customer record or other information, email support@dadbuilt.app. Because Moku has no account and does not collect contact information, we can delete only a record that we can reliably locate and verify.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will be called out plainly, not buried.
