Privacy policy
Effective July 29, 2026 · Moku is made by 2618991 Ontario Inc. (DadBuilt), Ontario, Canada.
The short version: Moku shows no ads, uses no third-party trackers, and has no accounts. We never collect your child's name, photos, voice, location, or contacts — the app has no way to ask for them. Your child's world is stored on your device. The only thing Moku sends us is anonymous usage and crash information so we can fix bugs.
What stays on your device
Everything your child makes and finds — the garden, the treasures on the shelf, the state of the whole world — is saved locally on your iPad. It is not uploaded, synced, or shared. Deleting the app deletes the world.
What Moku collects
Moku sends a small number of anonymous technical events to servers we run ourselves:
- Usage events — things like "a session started," which part of the world was visited, and how long a session lasted. Each session is tagged with a random identifier that is created when the session starts and never reused. It is not tied to you, your device, or any advertising identifier.
- Diagnostics — if the app crashes or performs poorly, we receive aggregate diagnostic reports through Apple's MetricKit system.
We use this information for exactly one purpose: making Moku work better. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising, and it cannot be used to identify anyone.
Anonymous usage and diagnostic events are deleted from our live service after 90 days. We do not create profiles or retain a persistent identifier that could connect one app launch to another.
What Moku never collects
- No names, emails, or accounts — there is nothing to sign up for
- No photos, microphone, camera, or location access
- No contacts, no messages, no social features
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or ad SDKs
Children's privacy
Moku is designed for children ages 3–6, and we built it to collect no personal information from anyone — children included. There is no chat, no free-text input, no way to share content out of the app, and no external links inside the child's world.
Purchases
If a purchase or subscription is offered, it is presented to a parent and processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store payment details.
Deleting data
World data lives on your device: delete the app to delete it. The anonymous events we hold cannot be traced back to you, but if you have any concern, email support@dadbuilt.app and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will be called out plainly, not buried.
